Due to a Facebook policy update, sidelineHD can no longer stream directly to Facebook Groups effective April 22, 2024. (This change affects all 3rd party Facebook Apps.)

We will continue livestreaming to YouTube, Facebook Profiles, and Facebook Pages. Our team recommends using YouTube and cross-posting to your Facebook group.

See below for some tools to help with the transition.


Where can sidelineHD publish your stream?

  1. YouTube: YouTube remains the most viable and user friendly streaming platform.  YouTube streams have higher quality, live DVR, and the ability to watch via app or smart TV. A YouTube page is a great alternative to a Facebook Group with the ability to change privacy settings of streams to unlisted or private.

  2. Facebook Profile: Upcoming changes will not impact 3rd Party publishing to your personal Facebook Profile.

  3. Facebook Page: Upcoming changes will not impact 3rd Party Access to a Facebook Page. However, if you want to create a new Facebook Page to publish your streams, make sure you set that up ahead of time.  Facebook prefers a page to have an established presence prior to livestreaming.

How to share a stream to your Facebook group


  1. Press the SHARE button (bottom right hand corner) when scoring a game in sidelineSCORE. 
  2. If the game is live and already at it's destination (FB Page, Profile, or YT), you will see the links to the streams!
  3. Press the Copy Link button to copy the stream link or game page link to your clipboard. Click the Share Link button to open your devices native share option.
  4. If you cannot find the Facebook button in the apps section, swipe all the way to the left, press the MORE button, find and make Facebook a favorite so it shows up! Press done to go back to the native share page. 
  5. Press Facebook and choose Groups. (Note: this will only show if the FB app is downloaded on your device!)
  6. Choose the group (you can use the search bar if you have several) and select your group and click post! Your stream is now shared!
